Isn't it strange? The 21st of July is National Junk Food Day, which may be the best holiday ever.
National Junk Food Day doesn't appear to have a history or origin, even after searching through the archives of National Days. Most likely, it was the brainchild of a junk food enthusiast or a group of health-conscious individuals who wanted a day to indulge in their favourite guilty pleasures.
For your health, one day a year isn't that big of an issue. However, it's a big deal for junk food lovers everywhere. Despite the fact that it is National Junk Food Day, it is not a federal holiday in the United States because neither Congress nor the President recognise it. It's purely for amusement's sake.
Despite the fact that we don't know the origin of National Junk Food Day, we do know when and where junk food entered our lives. In the late 1800s, the popularity of pre-packaged foods ushered in the era of junk food. Although home-cooked meals were widely accepted prior to World War 2, junk food began to take off following the war.
After World War II, the number of fast-food chains increased as people began to eat out more frequently. As demand for frozen food increased, grocery stores saw their frozen food items sell out in a matter of minutes. People could also get their fill of a wide range of fast food options.
Eat some chips, indulge in some chocolates, and savour some candies you love. Keep the festivities going for everyone, not just yourself. Be sure to forward this to all of your associates, family, and friends!
Why not indulge in some of your favourite junk food treats on National Junk Food Day? The best way to participate in the festivities is to do so in this manner. Just go ahead and eat whatever your heart desires, as long as it's not too many calories.
Invite all your friends over to bring their favourite junk food and play games like coke pong in place of the traditional beer pong. "No leafy food" should be the only rule of the party. Simple fare of cheese, fat, sweetness, and carbohydrates.
It's a good idea to show off your celebrations to your loved ones on National Junk Food Day. Record your most memorable moments of overindulgence and share them on social media. Include the hashtag #NationalJunkFoodDay in your caption.
We all have a favourite food that we crave at the drop of a hat. Your best excuse to satisfy your cravings is National Junk Food Day! Dopamine and opioids in the brain react to the taste of high-calorie foods, causing us to crave more of them. If you don't get rid of these cravings, your body won't be able to satisfy your hunger properly.
